Casual Games for Winchester Walkers

Casual Games for City Walkers

Harry Giles

A playable map to guide you round the city!

These small and strange little games, available free via a specially commissioned website, will help you discover places you never knew existed, and find new ways to walk around a city. They were designed on residency in Winchester so work particularly well here, but can be used in any small city.

For more information and to access the games visit gamesforwalkers.com

Casual Games is a series of publications made by the writer and performer Harry Giles to bring play into places it doesn’t usually appear, designing games that happen in public, happen in a conversation between friends, or only happen in your imagination.

Casual Games for City Walkers was commissioned for Hat Fair 2016 by Winchester City Council as part of their Feet First campaign, which aims to promote walking as the norm for short journeys – or as part of a longer journey – to school, shops, work and public transport links as well as for leisure purposes.

Casual Games is also supported by Winchester Action on Climate Change (WINACC).
