Schools Parade 2016

Schools’ Parade

Hat Fair

The theme for this year’s parade is Art and Craft based on Indian Textiles, celebrating the UK/India 2017 – a major bilateral year of cultural exchange.

Children from eight local schools have been working with Indian textile artist, Yogesh Purohit and Fine Art Students from Winchester School of Art to create all manner of wonders to carry during the parade, which will kick-off the festival weekend in style.

The parade begins at Abbey Gardens and ends at Cathedral Outer Close, via The Broadway.

Schools taking part include: Winnall Primary School, Osborne School, St Bede C of E Primary School, St Faith’s Primary School, John Keble C of E Primary School, Weeke Primary School, Western Primary School and Harestock Primary School
