PRESS RELEASE 17 OCTOBER 2018

Hat Fair announces its 2018 winner of annual photography competition

Hat Fair – part of Live Theatre Winchester Trust – has today announced the winner of Winchester Photographic Society’s annual photography competition.

Hat Fair’s Director Andrew Loretto selected this year’s winning image – from an array of stunning entries – shot by Corinne Kozok. The photo was captured during Mighty Mike’s performance; an impressive display of comedic strength featuring bowling balls and sledgehammers.

“We’re proud to support local talent through the annual Hat Fair photography competition. Thanks to South Western Railway we are now able to display several years’ worth of winning shots in the Winchester train station waiting room. Corinne Kozok’s colourful and energetic picture of Mighty Mike captures the festival crowds perfectly.” – Andrew Loretto, Hat Fair Director

Corinne’s winning entry is now permanently displayed in the platform two waiting room at Winchester Train Station, accompanying three winning photos from previous years to create a mini galley exhibition. Along with seeing her work on display, Corinne has also received two first class train tickets to a destination of her choice, courtesy of South Western Railway.

Hat Fair is the UK’s longest running Outdoor Arts festival. Taking place in the country’s historic city of Winchester, the event takes place across three days and welcomes thousands of people to enjoy free, site-specific performance.

Hat Fair returns for a 45th year Friday 5 to Sunday 7 July 2019.
