Young Critics 2017

Ever fancied becoming a reviewer?
Interested in outdoor arts?

Join theatre blogger Megan Vaughan as one of this year’s Young Critics at Hat Fair Festival 2017.

Receive one-to-one mentoring and advice, think about the unique conditions of watching performance outdoors and publish unbiased and uncensored reviews about anything at Hat Fair you love, hate or are totally bored by.

The festival weekend will be introduced by a free criticism workshop on Saturday 17 June which will discuss:
– What kind of review is most appropriate for outdoor arts?
– How important is a personal response?
– How does being in a crowd on the high street change the way we feel about performance?

If you’re aged between 18 – 25, have a passion for the arts and interested in being a Young Critic apply below

You must be able to commit to the festival dates (30 June – 2 July), and the preliminary workshop (17 June) but other than that no experience is required; only a critical mind.

Closing Date: Monday 1 May
