Be part of Hat Fair 2024

We’ve got two exciting opportunities for you to be part of Hat Fair 2024 and help us celebrate our 50th birthday.

Come and Sing at Hat Fair’s opening celebration!

We have an amazing opportunity to Come and Sing at our special community opening - Look Back, Look Forwards, Look Up! - on Friday 5 July at 6pm.

Taking part:

  • You will learn an original song with our Composer Sharon Richards and Community Choir Leader Marie O’Brien.
  • Rehearsals will be Friday 5 July, 4pm-5:15pm at Theatre Royal Winchester
  • You will perform with other singers and community choirs as part of our special community opening on Friday 5 July at 6pm in Winchester Cathedral’s Outer Close.

Suitable for ages 10 and over. All young people need to be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Autin Dance Theatre workshops

Take part in Autin Dance Theatre's inclusive and fun movement workshops to learn and co-create group movements that you’ll perform as part of the live show at Hat Fair 2024.

Parade – The Giant Wheel is a moving performance inspired by the beauty, power, and impact of people from different walks of life coming together, featuring a 12-foot tall Giant Wheel powered by 6 street artists and accompanied by music and a large community cast of local groups and individual performers.

You must attend one of the following rehearsals:

  • Sat 29 June, 10am-12pm at The Point, Eastleigh
  • Sat 29 June, 2pm-4pm, Play to the Crowd Pop Up Ideas Shop, The Brooks Shopping, Winchester
  • Wed 3 July, 5.30pm-7pm, Play to the Crowd Pop Up Ideas Shop, The Brooks Shopping, Winchester
  • Wed 3 July, 6.30pm-8.30pm, The Point, Eastleigh

Performance times:

  • Fri 5 July, 6pm, Look Back, Look Forwards, Look Up! special community opening, Cathedral Outer Close, Winchester
  • Sat 6 July, 12pm, The Square, Winchester
  • Sat 6 July, 3.15pm, The Square, Winchester
